AI will fundamentally reshape humanity's relationship with information. A new information ecosystem, mediated almost entirely by agentic systems, is rapidly emerging. Signals at Scale exists to understand this emerging information ecosystem, to identify opportunities and investment gaps within it, and to actively build towards radically positive outcomes for human societies.
Our societies are increasingly focused on making the AI transition go well. But every investment in better post-AGI outcomes depends on something nobody is systematically building: an information ecosystem that stays truth-seeking and self-correcting when AI mediates most of what humans and machines know. All other investments in a thriving AI-based society will fail if the epistemic layer fails.
A healthy AI-mediated information ecosystem is a hard requirement for a successful transition, but not enough attention and investment is directed at its critical functions: representations for grounding, information integrity at AI scale, persistence and fixity, reward systems, demand signals, ecosystem coordination and consumer controls.
The Signals at Scale Venture Studio exists to close that gap. We develop a point of view on the emerging ecosystem, map its missing functions, recruit top-caliber builders against them, and form and fund their projects.

Invited experts met in New York, San Francisco, Harvard and Copenhagen between December 2025 and May 2026. The sessions assumed a transformative restructuring of the information ecosystem under AGI, and looked for radically positive outcomes. Discussions moved from first-principles requirements, to the jobs to be done, to where value could be created and captured, and what might justify early investment.

Signals at Scale has just concluded a series of investment summits in the US and Europe, and is now assembling its first cohort of builders, focused on the representation of societal information at AI scale and scope. We will host a technical summit on information representation in Munich this November.
Who
The founders of Signals at Scale, David Caswell and Shuwei Fang, have spent years as leaders in the field of AI and societal information, working as practitioners, researchers, writers and speakers. They have pioneered the interpretation of AI as a deeply transformational, rather than merely incremental, influence on our information ecosystem.
